BVPIEEE

(Communities)

CS (Computer Society)

CS is the Computer Society of BVPIEEE and it deals with the practice and application of computer science and technology be it hardware or software. The chapter has also evolved with the rest of the world, thus a lot of the members research new aspects related to computer sciences like big data, cloud storage, artificial intelligence. The chapter encourages curious minds to learn and look towards a more practical future which can make them industry ready. The chapter also organises various hackathons and workshops to lead the budding engineers and lets them experience an actual working environment.

RAS (Robotics And Automation Society)

IEEE’s robotics and automation society was founded in 2014 by Shivam Bharadwaj. The main aim of RAS is to focus on awareness and development of technical skills in the field of Robotics and automation via theoretical knowledge and practical applications. Over the years, it has organized several competitions like Robo Soccor, Robotic Guardians of the Galaxy, Robotic Mazes, Arcades, Robo Rugby, etc. which were shown to have great acceptance as well as ample participation. RAS has also managed to pique the interest of many of the students to further pursue the field of robotics in higher studies as well as innovate ideas and study in depth at the top universities in the world such as New York University. The society has also carved students who were winning faces in several national and international competitions like eYantra and Celestini.

WIE (Women In Engineering)

The IEEE Student Branch of Bharati Vidyapeeth’s College of Engineering got the approval for starting the women in engineering student branch affinity group on 21st June 2007. BVPIEE women in the engineering branch as the name suggests aims towards piquing the interests of girls in the field of engineering and science and to increase networking among young women who are studying engineering. Also, to establish contacts with prominent women in academia and industry who are interested in guiding girls in engineering. Thus encouraging women from all over the world to become professional engineers and scientists. The goal is to facilitate the recruitment and retention of women in technical disciplines globally. We envision a vibrant community of IEEE women and men collectively using their diverse talents to innovate for the benefit of humanity. BVPIEEE strives to:

  • Recognize the outstanding achievements of women in electrical and electronics engineering through IEEE Awards nominations
  • Provide assistance with the formation of new WIE Affinity Groups, and support ongoing activities
  • Promote IEEE member grade advancement for women to the membership grades of Senior member and Fellow
  • Facilitate the development of programs and activities that promote the entry into, and retention of, women in engineering programs
  • Administer the IEEE Student-Teacher and Research Engineer/Scientist (STAR) Program to mentor young women in junior and high schools

IAS (Industrial Applications Society)

IAS is the Industry Applications Society of BVPIEEE. The chapter has a very wide scope of activity covering both technical and non-technical aspects. The chapter mainly deals with informing and educating the participants about the use of different useful machinery, new inventions and encourages the members to research and invent innovative products for their field. The chapter conducts various workshops spreading awareness about interesting and useful technology and providing hands on experience with stuff helpful in the industry.

DRISHTI

Drishti is a SIG for Digital Arts and like with every SIG the main focus is to build a community which can support itself and provide learning opportunities to all. Digital Arts may include a lot of things like photography, video editing, animations etc. We promote artistic creations via digital arts and provide a platform where the members can express themselves through their art.

BQC

BQC as an SIG is the Quiz Club of BVPIEEE. Quizzes and Trivia are something that intrigues everyone. The fun with quizzes is that they can be about any topic so the community here can be as large as one can hope for and finding like-minded people can be really easy. Conducting Quizzes helps research skills and of course acquiring new information.

GAMMA

GAMMA, Gaming, Multi Media and Animation is an SIG of BVPIEEE and yearns to make a community where the members can show off their skills, learn different styles and ways to game or create content, increase the quality of said content which may include photo/ video editing, animations, music creation, graphic design and all the other digital ways of entertainment.

CODE - X

Code-X is a programming-based special Interest group under BVPIEE that aims to improve the programming and coding standards of beginners and students working in the fields related to programming. It also aims to lessen the skill gap between beginners and pro programmers by providing the beginners ample of projects and mentorship of learned and experienced programmers. It also holds workshops, weekly quiz/challenges, tutorial sessions, and offline programming competitions on a regular basis keeping the level as comfortable as possible for both, beginners and pro-coders.

ENTREPRENEURSHIP CELL

E-Cell (Entrepreneurship Cell) aims at providing a platform for students to interact with professionals and industrialists from different fields. E-Cell organizes Group Discussions, Conferences, and many more Interactive sessions and helps in developing a Professional environment for students. It also helps students present in the various fields of engineering to innovate and build their ideas and to help them realize their dreams of establishing their own start-ups, by providing them conceptual and visual pro- ideas and industry demands of the economy at present and live interaction with successful entrepreneurs to help them carefully understand and analyze as to what are the basic demands of the economy at present and in the future.
